How IP grabbers work

Understanding how IP-grabbers work is fundamental to using them effectively.

An IP grabber is a service or web page designed to log the IP addresses of visitors. An IP address is a numerical identifier assigned to your device by your internet provider or VPN.

By itself, an IP address usually does not reveal someone’s exact location, but it can often indicate:

However, an IP address alone generally cannot:

How are they Implemented?

The process is simple:

  1. A user visits a website or clicks a link.
  2. Their device sends a request to the server.
  3. The server automatically sees the visitor’s IP address as part of normal internet communication.
  4. The server records the IP address and may also log:

This is standard web server behavior, not something unique to IP grabbers.

Using IP-grabbers offensively

Now that you understand how IP-Grabbers work, we can learn how to leverage their capabilities as a tool.

  1. Ensure that you have read and understand the OPSEC guide to protect yourself. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP
  2. Choose a grabber service from the list below.
  3. Make it believable with the settings on your grabber website, usually some data mining is required to make it look appealing to click.
  4. Once you’ve datamined and KNOW YOUR TARGET WELL you can make a convincing grabber suited to their interests, baiting an impulse click. Example image: IMG_1491.jpeg Note that the “not for snowflakes” makes it more of an impulsive click, as not clicking implies that your a snowflake. Since this target was stupid it was easy to identify what they would click on based off their interest in dark humor and mention of South Park.
  5. Filter bots, you may get some random company IP’s after sending since crawler bots try to figure out what you sent to display a preview. Look for a unique IP that is coming from somewhere close to your targets general location.

List of IP-Grabbers

Make sure your OPSEC is good before accessing these.

Cobsoy is a great choice for smarter people who won’t click obvious links.

https://grabify.org
Grabify is the most standard IP-Grabber and has lots of settings, however anyone who’s not a dumbass isn’t gonna click this. Good for use on retards though.

https://iplogger.org
Same as Grabify, won’t work on non-idiots.

Countergrabbing

  1. If you got your IP grabbed, don’t panic. Hopefully you had your VPN on, which if you did you have nothing to worry about.
  2. If not, and they actually have your IP, Google “what is my IP” and confirm it, then write it down or take a picture.
  3. Then, unplug your router for like 5 minutes and plug it back in.
  4. After, google that again and pray that it’s different. If it is, congratulations. If not, just hope that the guy who has your IP is too poor to buy a DDOS .
  5. Don’t be a dumbass and click stupid links or leave your VPN off when doing shit.(OPSEC)
